This project was conceived out of a meeting with the company Elica and the curatorial proposal from the Fondazione Ermanno Casoli di Fabriano. The business model process of a company working side-by-side with the creative-process of an artist, who as a starting point, created a new methodology for the interaction between art and industry, creating her studio within Elica’s Prototype Laboratory in Fabriano.
In this protected space the employees of the company collaborated with the artist’s work. From this interaction, which lasted one year, much was created: a series of ten collages that the artist entitled Aspiranti Aspiratori, three sculptures, an animated video and an artist’s book. The complete work titled Aspiring Aspirator would become Purifiers was shown in Milan for Fuori Salone 2012.
The project was selected among the participants for the Compasso d’Oro Award for commitment and innovation in the “Research for business.”
The show was not the end of the project, but instead it opened many new possibilities for the company to foster ideas and transform the project into an interactive exhibition with workshops for the public about air purification and climate change.
