Anatomia Parallela in Tour is a 2014 performance in which Sissi brings her imaginary anatomy into the anatomical theatres still existing in Europe. The artist presents herself as a kind of poetic scientist: she leafs through and narrates large plates from her book Anatomia Parallela, transforming anatomical knowledge into an emotional, personal, and visionary narrative.
The performance also has symbolic value because it takes place in spaces historically connected to medical knowledge dominated by men, from which women were long excluded. Sissi overturns this tradition: she is not a female body being observed or studied, but a woman who speaks about the body and invents her own parallel anatomy, made of organs, emotions, memory, and identity.
