Premio New York. Italian Academy of Columbia University, New York
Knitted plastic yarn, 300 x 80 x 60 cm
This work was presented in my solo show at the Italian Academy at Columbia University, where I was in residence as recipient of the New York Prize. For one day, I replaced the American and Italian flags that usually hang on the façade of the Italian Academy with a pair of knitted cocoons I had made myself. These two cocoons proposed the idea of a new flag – a shared, emerging identity.
